Falls from Freshmen Highlight Wrestling at Edinboro

EDINBORO, Pa. – Three freshmen posted three pins to pace Davidson at Edinboro, but wrestling fell at in a non-conference road dual Saturday afternoon, 28-18.
Freshman Cian Fischer got the Wildcats on the board quickly, pinning Lucas Rodrigues in the middle of the second frame of the match opening 125-pound bout. The fall was his team-leading sixth of the season.
Classmate David Loniewski trailed 7-6 late in the second period of the 141-pound bout, but turned a reversal into his first collegiate pin as time was expiring to help Davidson take a 12-3 lead.
At 184-pounds, Gavin Henry earned his second fall of the year, making quick work of Cody Mulligan in 66 seconds.
Davidson returns to the mat tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 9 when they travel to Pittsburgh to face the nationally ranked Panthers. The first bout is slated for 2 p.m.
