LAST TIME OUT... The 'Cats won their third straight game on Friday, topping ETSU 70-64 inside Belk Arena. The win was powered by a career-high, 17-point performance from Cameron Tabor along with junior Chloe Welch, who recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.
ABOUT THE RAMS... Fordham has gotten just three games in during the early season, going 2-1 with wins over neighboring Hofstra and Stony Brook universities. In that span, the Rams average 64.0 points per game and have held opponents to 59.3 points per game. Fordham has shot 42.2 percent from beyond the arc and is led by Anna DeWolfe, who has gone 9-of-16 from three-point range. DeWolfe is the Rams' most lethal scoring threat, as she averages 26.7 points per game and is shooting 53.8 percent from the floor. Kaitlyn Downey aids the Rams' offense as well, averaging a double-double this season with 10.0 points and 13.3 rebounds per game, respectively.
THE SERIES... Monday's match up will be the 14th meeting between the Rams and the 'Cats since Davidson joined the Atlantic 10 in 2014-15. Fordham holds the series advantage at 9-4 and won the last meeting, 47-46. When meeting the Rams, the Wildcats historically average just 50.4 points per game. In the last two seasons, the Rams and Wildcats have split the series, 2-2.
NOTABLES... Wildcats Head Coach Gayle Fulks already has 48 wins under her belt through her tenure at the helm of the 'Cats. In that span, she has a .488 winning percentage. The meeting against Fordham marks Fulks' 100th game at the helm of the Wildcats.
TALK ABOUT BALANCE... In all but one of Davidson's games this season, three or more Wildcats have scored in double-figures. Twice, the 'Cats have had four scorers reach double-figures, once against FGCU and once versus ETSU. In both of those games, Cameron Tabor has set new career highs for herself, scoring 14 points against FGCU and then 17 against ETSU, respectively.
SECOND HALF WARRIORS... In their last five outings, the Wildcats have outscored their opponents by a combined 31 points in the second halves. In each of those halves, the 'Cats drained 11 or more field goals.
WELCH'S WAY... Chloe Welch has been Davidson's anchor through six games this season, scoring in double figures in each of the Wildcats' games. The Colorado native set a career-high 23 points in Davidson's opening #BeachBubble tournament, before topping that mark with 32 points against Appalachian State. Her 32-point performance came with 18 fourth quarter points and earned her her first Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor on Dec. 14.
HEY MS. CARTER... After playing only nine games as a freshman, Peyton Carter has become a staple in Davidson's starting lineup this year. The sophomore averages 7.3 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 18-of-36 from the field through the 'Cats' first six games. Davidson's Dec. 21 game against the Rams will be Carter's 20th birthday.
TURNER'S TOUCH... Senior guard, Katie Turner has already left her mark on the Wildcats' program throughout her career. She moved to third all-time in career assists (390) after dishing 127 assists last season and is now just 74 assists away from taking over the second all-time slot. The Nevada native is also a member of Davidson's 1,000 point club and moved into fourth all-time for career three-pointers now with 206 total, after draining 66 three's last season. She continues to climb this program rank, as she is just 25 made-three's away from taking over the program record.
