DAVIDSON, N.C. – Wrestling returns home for a matinee match against California Baptist Thursday, Jan. 8 before heading to Appalachian State Sunday, Jan. 12 for a Southern Conference showdown.

ABOUT DAVIDSON
The Wildcats welcomed freshman Cian Fischer back from injury at the Southern Scuffle where the 125-pounder picked up a decision over Rhett Golowinski of Oklahoma State. Fischer leads the 'Cats with three pins in just seven completed bouts. Sophomore Kyle Gorant has built off his rookie success, posting six wins this season – four by way of decision.

Thursday's dual marks the first matchup between Davidson and the Lancers.

SCOUTING THE LANCERS
California Baptist travels east with a 2-2 mark in dual match action. The Lancers blanked Life Pacific, 51-0, and downed SoCon for Gardner-Webb, 22-16. Heavyweight Zach Schrader and 149-pounder AJ Raya lead the squad with 12 wins apiece. Schrader has won half his bouts by way of fall including a 24 second Cal Poly's Victor Jaquez at the Road Runner Open.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
On Sunday, Davidson travels to Boone, N.C. for SoCon showdown with the Mountaineers. Entering the week, 13 Mountaineer grapplers have already recorded double digit wins including the team-leader and 149-pounder, Jonathan Millner (19-4). App State has had a pair of SoCon Wrestler of the Week honorees, Millner on the Nov. 20 report and Sean Carter featured the week of Dec. 4.
