BOSTON – The Davidson women's track team took advantage of elite competition and the banked track Friday at the John Thomas Terrier Classic at the BU Tennis and Track & Field Center.
A pair of Wildcats posted new program records on the day, sophomore Bianca Nolde-Lopez broke her own 400-meter record, while junior Eleni Daughters reset the 1,000-meter mark.
Nolde-Lopez placed third in her section, crossing the line in 56.66 seconds to break her previous school-best mark of 57.09 seconds set at the JDL Early Bird Duals back in December.
Daughters, already the indoor record holder over 800 meters, crossed the line in 2:51.96 in the 1k to break teammate Maddie Hunter's mark of 2:54.65 set at the 2018 Terrier Classic. She is only the third Wildcat to break three minutes and did so in convincing fashion, placing 11th overall.
Davidson posted a fair share of personal best times throughout the day.
Junior Grace Loehr won her heat and posted the fourth fastest 500m performance all-time and a new PR, stopping the clock in 1:15.69. Her time placed her sixth out of 82 finishers.
Hunter placed top-10 overall out of 134 competitors in the 3k with a new personal best time of 10:02.84.
Freshman Rachel Horowitz took second in her section of the 400m with a time of 58.14 seconds.
The 4x400m relay team placed sixth, racing the baton over 1600m in 3:51.96.
Senior Katie Hines competed in the 200-meter dash, stopping the clock in 26.00 seconds. Freshman Natalie Abernathy ended the 'Cats night with a 17:55.42 performance in the 5k.
