Field Hockey Falls at Longwood

FARMVILLE, Va. — A day after securing its first win of the season, Davidson was unable to finish offensively in a 3-0 loss at Longwood.
The Wildcats (1-5), who defeated Merrimack 3-2 Saturday, held an 11-9 advantage in penalty corners and put six shots on goal Sunday, including two each by freshmen Natalie Naticchia and Caroline Wack. Julia Smith and Emma Coleman also challenged the Lancers keeper.
Meanwhile, Wildcat keeper Sarah Zeszotarski made nine saves against 12 shots on goal.
Karly Harwood's goal in the 22nd minute gave the Lancers a 1-0 lead at the intermission, and her second goal of the day made it 3-0 with less than 10 minutes remaining. Longwood's second goal was scored by Sophia Loscher late in the third period.

Davidson continues its stretch of seven road games in its first eight with a trip into Pennsylvania to begin Atlantic 10 Conference play.
The Wildcats will visit St. Francis (Pa.) Friday, Sept. 20 and travel to Lock Haven next Sunday.
