Coach Denton's Thoughts on the Upcoming Game ...
"The group is looking forward to another challenging week when we host Georgia State Thursday and then make the road trip to face Mercer over the weekend. Both are very tough teams and will provide different challenges. When we put the non-conference schedule together, we were looking at different styles of play that will provide us learning opportunities. With classes starting this week, we are now in a regular schedule with our players and their time management becomes critical as we go through the season."
"Georgia State is part of the Sun Belt Conference and finished well last year. It will be a very tough game. Mercer is a a tough trip and a difficult place to play. They are always competing in the Southern Conference. The players have to be ready for another tough battle. They're excited with our start, but they all know about the tough battles ahead this week and all season."
Previous Game for the Wildcats, Aug. 25 at Winthrop ...
Senior Sabine Chandler capped off a stellar week by scoring late in the second half to break up a scoreless game as Davidson women's soccer earned its first shutout of the year with a 2-0 blanking of Winthrop on the road Sunday afternoon. Adding an insurance goal was freshman Hailey Braemer in the 84th minute with an assist coming from fellow classmate Rachel Schleicher. Senior goalkeeper Sarah L'Hommedieu earned her first shutout as a Wildcat and finished with three saves.
