Davidson W. Basketball Adds Deegan to Class of 2023

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson women's basketball head coach Gayle Coats Fulks announced today the addition of Suzi-Rose Deegan to her second recruiting class, as Deegan signed a national letter of intent for the 2019-20 campaign.
Deegan joins fellow classmates Peyton Carter, Adelaide Fuller and Cameron Tabor as part of the 2023 class (click here to read about the other three incoming freshmen).
"We are thrilled to be adding Suzi-Rose to our 2019 recruiting class," said Coats Fulks. "She is a fierce competitor that loves to play and will bring athleticism and physicality to our guard group. She also compliments Peyton, Adelaide, and Cameron with her versatility and high-motor."

Athletic Honors: Played basketball, Australian Rules Football and ran cross country during prep career … Western Australia (WA) State team 2012 – 2019 and WA State Champion 2014-17 … 3-time WA MVP … won a U20 Bronze Medal (WA) while averaging 18.9 ppg, 9.6 rpg and 1.6 apg… awarded scholarship to attend Basketball Australia's Centre of Excellence for 2018 … Member of the Australian 3x3 Youth Olympic Games Bronze Medal team in 2018 … current member of the WA SBL Perth Redbacks team averaging 20.1 ppg, 7.6 rpg and 2.9 apg … Australian Rules Football honors include: 3-time All-Australian AFLW U18's, West Coast Eagles - first female player ever drafted by the club prior to their debut in AFLW … Cross Country highlights: WA State team 2012 - 14th place at Nationals Athletics … school record holder in 400m, 800m, 1500m.

A creative and physical finisher at the rim as well as in the mid-range, she has the ability to hit tough shots from all over the court. Outside of her scoring abilities, she will make a big impact on our team as a fearless rebounder and on the defensive end. Her experience playing in the 3v3 Youth Olympic Games as a member of the Perth Lynx and Perth Redbacks, as well as her exposure to high performance as a scholarship holder at the Center of Excellence, has prepared her incredibly well for the college game."
