Mills Leads Women's T&F at Charlotte Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Fresh off an impressive 1500-meter personal best Friday night, Davidson senior Sophia Mills snapped the tape in the 800-meter run Saturday on the final day of the Charlotte Invitational.
A day after smashing her PR in the 1500m Invitational by nearly five seconds, Mills took first in the half mile with a time of 2:13.63. Sophomore Caroline Willis also came home in the top-eight spots, stopping the clock in 2:18.61.
Freshman Anna Davis ran well in the 400-meter hurdles, leaning across the line fourth with a time of 1:04.34. Classmate Hazel Tankard set a new personal best in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 15.53 seconds, while junior Makayla Binter tied her PR (15.98).
The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Meghan Corso, Katie Hines, Marquia Humphries and Tori Long won their section and placed fifth overall, racing the baton around the track in 48.29 seconds.
Davis and Humphries joined Claire Nieusma and Bianca Nolde-Lopez to take third in the 4x400-meter relay to end the day, stopping the clock in 3:52.75.
Davidson returns to the track Saturday, Apr. 20 for the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C.
