WILMINGTON, N.C.  — The Davidson women's tennis team pulled out its second-straight 5-2 decision with a win on the road at UNC Wilmington Monday afternoon on the UNCW Courts.

The Wildcats, playing three matches in a five-day span, moved to 7-4 on the season and won their sixth match against foes from the state of North Carolina. UNC Wilmington fell to 4-6 on the year.

Davidson claimed the doubles point and won four of six singles matches for the team win. The duo of Alexandra Abele and Samantha Armas improved to 8-2 on the year at No. 2 doubles with a 7-5 win. Gabrielle Centenari and Nicole Krykanov ran their record to 6-1 together after a 6-2 decision at No. 3.

The 'Cats are 21-11 in doubles matches this season.

Abele and Centenari each took home singles wins at No. 2 and 3 positions, respectively. Abele eased to a 6-0, 6-2 win for her eighth victory of the year. The senior Centenari halted a three-match skid with a 6-4, 6-3 win for her fifth triumph on the season.

Megan Scholvinck needed a third set but pulled out a 3-6, 7-6(4), 6-3 win at No. 1.

Scoring the final team point was Elizabeth Truluck at No. 5, as the freshman sealed up a 7-5, 6-3 victory to bump her record to a team-best tying 9-2. She is riding a season-best five-match win streak.

Falling for just the second time this year was Samantha Armas, who had her five-match win streak halted after a 6-4, 6-3 setback at No. 4. The junior is 9-2 on the season.
Playing her first singles match of the season was Krykanov, who went all the way to a third set but fell short in a well-played 3-6, 6-2, 4-6 setback.
