A Pair of Relay Records Fall for Women's T&F

RALEIGH, N.C. –The Davidson women's track and field team set a pair of relay records at the Raleigh Relays, while another group raced at the Terrier Relays Saturday in split squad action.
The 4x200-meter relay team of freshmen Sophia Ackerman, Meghan Corso, Marquia Humphries and junior Saidah Rahman opened the day with a new standard, stopping the clock in 1:43.41.
Later in the day, the Wildcat relay team of Katie Hines, Grace Loehr, Tori Long and Bianca Nolde-Lopez broke the 4x400 record, turning in a time 3:48.05 to place eighth overall, breaking the mark set by the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship squad (3:50.36).
The 4x100-meter relay team of Meghan Corso, Katie Hines, Marquia Humphries and Tori Long posted the second fastest time in program history, racing the baton around the track in 48.12 seconds.
Sophomore Eleni Daughters continued to chip off time in the 800-meters, crossing the line in 2:11.34, setting a personal best for the second consecutive meet top start the year.
Daughter's joined teammates Audrey Grammel, Sophia Mills and Claire Nieusma in the 4x800-meter relay to take third with a time of 9:05.34.
Freshman Anna Davis narrowly missed her season-best time in the 400-meter hurdles, stopping the clock in 1:03.41.
At the Terrier Relays in Spartanburg, S.C., junior Paige McKinney opened the meet with a second-place result in the 5k, stopping the clock in 18:19.51. Classmate Susannah Cate took fourth, 18:28.07.
Freshman Hazel Tankard ran a strong time in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 15.67 seconds to place 10th.
After a weekend off, Davidson returns to the track Saturday, Apr. 13 at the Charlotte Invitational.
