
Women's Track & Field Finishes Up At Winthrop Invite

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Davidson women's track and field team posted positive results Saturday on the final day of the Winthrop Invitational.
Sophomore Eleni Daughters won the open 800-meters, racing the half mile in 2:12.62 for her fastest outdoor mark. Senior Sophia Mills was next across the line in 2:13.17, while classmate Claire Nieusma placed seventh in 2:16.30. Staying on the mid-distance side of things, junior Katie MacTurk placed sixth in the 1500-meters, crossing the line in 4:46.95.
Freshman Anna Davis came home sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.02. Classmate Hazael Tankard also competed well in the 100-meter hurdles, stopping the clock in 15.09 seconds.
Junior Paige McKinney took first in the women's developmental 1500m run, stopping the clock in 4:54.93. Sophomore Garnet Brown took fourth (5:02.20). Freshman Leah Sarkisian also had success in a developmental heat, snapping the tape in the 800-meters with a time of 2:22.99.
Davidson returns to the track Friday, Mar. 29 on the opening day of the Raleigh Relays.
