DAVIDSON, N.C. — Elon snapped Davidson's season-best four-match win streak Wednesday afternoon when the Wildcats dropped a 5-0 decision on its home courts in a midweek match.
Davidson fell to 10-4 overall, while the Phoenix ran their record to 11-3.
Elon would take the doubles point and then the first four singles positions in straight sets to secure the team win. The last two matches at No. 5 and 6 positions went unfinished.
The lone win on the afternoon came from the doubles team of Yash Parikh and Alexander Loope at No. 3 where the duo won their third in a row together with a 6-2 decision.
Seeing their three-match winning streak come to an end was the pair of Camden Mazzoni and Douglas MacIntosh at No. 2 doubles. In addition, Mazzoni and Sam Kavarana also had their personal three-match singles winning streaks halted after 6-3, 6-4 and 6-4, 6-2 setbacks at No. 4 and 3 positions.
Davidson stays at home and will face Atlantic 10 foe George Mason this Sunday at 1 p.m.
