
Men's T&F Wraps Up Weekend at Camel City Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Davidson men's track and field team wrapped up the weekend at the Camel City Invitational Saturday at JDL Fast Track.
After a busy afternoon Friday, the Wildcats tuned up for next week's BU Valentine's Invitational in the final day of Camel City. Davidson's 4x400-meter relay team of Cory Gaither, Jacob Hostetler, Bryce Kalsu and Stockton McGuire turned in a time of 3:21.67, the second fastest relay team on the day.
Sophomore jumper Langston Stephens placed eighth in the triple, stretching the tape 12.69-meters (41'7.75), the eighth best mark of the day. Classmate Nick Peeples clocked a 400-meter time of 53.09 seconds.
On Friday, Gaither took home fifth in the 60-meter hurdles to lead men's track and field in the first day of the Camel City Invitational Friday at JDL Fast Track. The Statesville, N.C., native won his preliminary heat of the 60m hurdles and earned an automatic spot in the finals - the rookie went on to notch his second fastest time of the year, 8.28 seconds.
Freshman Jonah Lane came home seventh in the 800-meters, stopping the clock in 1:57.86. Classmate Max Pearson set a new personal best in the mile with a time of 4:22.95. Wildcat sophomore jumper Philip Maclemore set a new personal best mark in the high jump, clearing 1.90-meters (6'2.75).
Davidson returns to the track Thursday, Feb. 7 at the JDL Team Challenge. The first event from JDL is scheduled for 5 p.m.
