NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Senior swimmer Walter Dauksher is this week's Atlantic 10 Men's Performer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. The honor is his first.
Dauksher helped the Wildcat men win the six-team Bucknell Invitational over the weekend by winning the 200-yard freestyle and swimming anchor on the winning 800 free relay team.
Dauksher earned the top seed in the 200 free during prelims, then delivered in the night session with a winning time of 1:39.17, which is second-best among A-10 swimmers this year.
The 800 free relay won in 6:43.58. Dauksher also posted fifth-place finishes in the 100 and 500 free events, and his 500 time of 4:33.45 is fifth-best in the A-10.
