Field Hockey Closes With Richmond Friday Night

DAVIDSON — The Wildcats field hockey team will conclude the 2019 season Friday with a 6 p.m. home match against Richmond at Belk Turf Field.
The Wildcats (3-15, 1-6 Atlantic 10) are seeking their first win since beating conference foe Saint Louis 2-0 at home on Oct. 18. Davidson is coming off a challenging weekend in Pennsylvania, which included a 5-0 league loss to No. 11 Saint Joseph's and a 7-2 loss to non-conference foe Villanova.
Junior McGee Roman leads the Wildcats with 11 points and has scored a team-high four goals, along with junior Valerie Hajek and sophomore Julia Smith. Senior goalkeeper Sarah Zeszotarski has been steady in the cage all season and ranks second in the A-10 with 108 saves.

Richmond is trying to secure a spot in the A-10's four-team postseason tournament.
The Spiders (9-8) enter Friday with a 5-2 mark in league play, behind only league champion Saint Joseph's and tied for second with Lock Haven and UMass, a game ahead of VCU. Senior Elise Zwicklbauer leads the Spiders and ranks among the A-10 leaders with six goals and 17 points.
