Donovan registered her seventh double-double of the season, matching her career-best by going 10-for-16 from the floor with one three-pointer. The sophomore helped the 'Cats pull away by scoring eight points in the third quarter during a 14-5 run to finish the quarter out and open up a 48-34 lead. They outscored the Dukes 15-5 in the quarter.
The advantage would grow to 17 (62-47) late in the fourth quarter when Katie Turner drilled a trey at the top of the key to seal up the win.
Justine Lyon scored 15 points off the bench, including dropping nine points in the first quarter to keep the Wildcats close and end the quarter tied at 18-apiece.
Combining for 18 points was Turner and Kianna Speight, scoring nine each, and hitting five three-pointers together.
Duquesne (7-8, 1-1 A-10) had two reach double figures, with Paige Cannon and Cassidy Omogrosso scoring 10 points each. The Dukes shot just 17-for-51 from the floor, including only 3-of-17 from behind the arc and 6-for-21 in the final two quarters.
The Wildcats had a 36-32 edge on the glass and scored 19 points off of 19 Duke turnovers, while getting 34 points in the paint.
Behind a pair of triples from Speight and one from Donovan, the Wildcats opened up a 31-24 lead in the second quarter with 2:57 left. They would finish the quarter up four, 33-29, heading into the locker room for halftime.
Davidson wraps up a two-game road swing with a trip to Kingston, R.I., to take on Rhode Island Saturday, Jan. 12.
