Women's T&F Post Strong Showing at JDL Dual Meet Madness

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –Sophomore Eleni Daughters won a Davidson-heavy 800-meter run Sunday afternoon at the JDL Dual Meet Madness at JDL Fast Track.
Daughters set the Dual Meet Madness record with a time of 2:14.52, slightly ahead of her result from a week ago at the Wake Forest Invite (2:14.86). Senior's Claire Nieusma and Sophia Mills went 3-4 in 2:17.10 and 2:18.46, respectively. Sophomore Caroline Willis notched a personal best time of 2:21.64 and finished seventh for the 'Cats.
Wildcats freshman Meghan Corso tied Rosie Lewis' 60-meter hurdle record, stopping the clock in 9.22 seconds. Corso narrowly missed the record in her collegiate debut in December, turning in a 9.24 second performance. Lewis originally set the mark at the 2010 Southern Conference Championship.
Another Davidson freshman with a stellar day was Bianca Nolde-Lopez in the 400-meter run. Nolde-Lopez set a personal record with a time of 58.89 seconds, the second fastest time run in program history. She placed fourth overall.
The 'Cats also had finishers 7-9 and led by Anna Davis' 1:02.06. Fellow freshman Marquia Humphries (1:02.46) and junior Saidah Rahman (1:02.55) rounded out the Davidson 400m contingent.
Junior Katie MacTurk came home in third in the mile (5:10.91), while classmate Paige McKinney came home fifth in the 3,000-meters (10:42.53).
Davidson finished off the day with a victory in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Daughters, Nieusma, Willis and Katie Hines combined to race the baton around the track in 4:00.25.
On the field side, junior Makayla Binter cleared 1.59-meters (5'2.25) to finish third in the high jump. The multis athlete also set a personal best in the shot put, marking a throw 0f 10.08-meters (33'1) and snapped a year-old mark of 10.02m.
Junior Hannah Malkofsky-Berger matched her personal best vault performance, clearing 3.15-meters (10'4), while freshman Hazel Tankard stretched the tape 15.11-meters (16'9.25), the sixth best long jump mark of the day.
Davis wrapped up the meet for Davidson using her sixth triple jump attempt of the day to extend her season-best out to 10.71-meters (35'1.75). She marked the seventh-best jump of the day.
Davidson returns to the track Friday, Feb. 1 on the opening day of the Camel City Invitational at JDL Fast Track.
