Women's T&F Returned to Action at the Wake Forest Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –The Davidson women's track and field returned to the track Saturday at the Wake Forest Invitational at JDL Fast Track.
Wildcat sophomore Eleni Daughters took second in the 800-meter, stopping the clock in 2:14.86. Senior Claire Nieusma came home in fourth (2:19.28), while sophomore Caroline Willis (2:24.39) placed eighth overall.
Freshman Anna Davis placed second in the triple jump, marking a leap of 10.47-meters (34'4.25) on her final attempt of the day. Also taking second on the day was senior Sophia Mills in the mile, stopping the clock in 5:11.63.
Freshman Meghan Corso placed fifth overall in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles, stopping the clock in 9.32 seconds. Classmate Hazel Tankard was ninth overall in the prelims with a time of 9.40 seconds.
The Wildcats placed two 4x400-meter relay teams in the top four led by the squad of Daughters, Nieusma, Tori Long and Bianca Nolde-Lopez. The team combined to stop the clock in 3:58.69.
Junior Katie Hines placed eighth in the 200-meters with a time of 26.51 seconds.
Davidson returns to the track Sunday, Jan. 27 at the JDL Dual Meet Madness.
