ST. LOUIS, MO. – Senior Mason Rooney had a triple-double, but the Davidson Wildcats fell 3-1 at Saint Louis Sunday afternoon at Chaifetz Arena.
Rooney finished with 10 kills, 21 assists and 10 digs as the Wildcats dropped to 7-7 overall and 1-3 in the Atlantic 10. Senior Ciera Cockrell led Davidson with 13 kills, and junior Josie Treadwell added 22 digs and 7 service aces.
The triple-double is Rooney's fourth of the season. She also went for double-digits in kills, assists and digs in victories over Charlotte, Mississippi State and Charleston Southern.
Saint Louis won the first set 25-23 and the second 25-21 before Davidson rallied to a 25-17 win in the third. The Billikens closed out the match with a 25-13 win in the fourth.
Saint Louis improved to 2-14 and 1-3 as Maya Taylor turned in a match-high 22 kills.
