DAYTON, OHIO – Davidson was unable to snap Dayton's winning streak as the Flyers held off the Wildcats 3-1 Friday night at the Frericks Center.
Dayton took the first two sets 25-13 and 25-18 before the Wildcats won the third 25-21. Dayton then responded with a 25-10 victory in the fourth to close it out.
With the loss, Davidson is now 7-6 on the season and 1-2 in the Atlantic 10. Dayton, with a 7-match win streak, is 12-4 and atop the A-10 with a 4-0 conference record. The Flyers are 8-0 at home.
Dayton connected on .376 of its swings, while holding Davidson to a .162 hitting percentage.
Hattie Rodriguez and Ciera Cockrell led the Wildcats with 9 kills apiece. Mason Rooney added 7 kills and 14 assists, while Josie Treadwell had 17 digs.
Brooke Westbeld had a triple-double for Dayton with 10 kills, 20 assists and 15 digs. Lauren Bruns led the Flyers with 17 kills.
