Multiple PR's Highlight Women's T&F's Day at Duke Invite

DURHAM, N.C. –
 The Davidson women's track and field team posted a handful of new personal bests, while senior Sarah Sears joined junior Caroline Yarbrough as a possible NCAA East Regional qualifier in the 5k in the final day of the Duke Invitational Saturday at Morris Williams Track and Field Stadium.
 
Sears smashed her previous personal best (16:56.66) in the 5k, stopping the clock in 16:21.59, good for fourth overall. Sears joins Yarbrough, whose school record (16:20.70), ranks them 16th and 17th in the region to date.
 
Four 'Cats posted new personal best times in the 800-meters led by junior Sophia Mills. Mills stopped the clock in 2:13.15, while freshmen Eleni Daughters (2:14.27) and Maddie Hunter (2:14.52) finished back-to-back. Freshman Audrey Grammel was the final Wildcat to notch a PR, stopping the clock in 2:17.00.
 
Sophomore Carly Peters was second in the javelin, marking a throw of 43.59m (143'0).
 
The 4x100m relay team of  Makayla Binter, Katie Hines, Grace Loehr and Saidah Rahman posted their fastest result of the season to date, racing the baton around the track in 48.69 seconds, a top-three time in program history.
 
The 4x400, relay team of Katie Hines, Grace Loehr, Tori Long and Claire Nieusma ran the second best time in program history, stopping the clock in 3:51.79.
 
Davidson returns to the track at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship Saturday, May 6 at George Mason University.
