Carmack and Caveney Lead the Charge for Men's T&F at Duke Invite

DURHAM, N.C. – Men's track and field junior's Dylan Carmack, Sean Caveney and Jacob Hostetler posted impressive days on the track in the final day of the Duke Invitational Saturday at Morris Williams Track and Field Stadium.
Caveney was second overall and the first collegian to stop the clock in the 400-meter hurdles. The Andover, Mass., native finished with a time of 52.25 seconds, a new school record. Hostetler posted a new school record in the 200m dash, crossing the line in 21.33 seconds.
Carmack smashed his previous personal best in the 5k, stopping the clock in 14:10.65, sixth overall and the third collegian to cross the line. Carmack's previous best was 14:32.85 set last April at the Mason Spring Invitational.
"Great weekend for our team," said head coach Renny Waldron. "We had great energy and the team just kept rolling. We are where we want to be with two weeks left in the season."
A pair of freshman posted personal records on the day. Daniel Alvarez stopped the clock in the 800m in 1:54.74, while Miles Hollimon turned in a 200m time of 21.84 seconds.
In Friday's action, sophomore James Davis finished just outside the top eight of the pole vault, clearing 4.35m (14'3.25) for ninth. Senior Ian Robertson posted a 3:55.12 in the 1500m, good for 12th on the night.
Davidson returns to the track Friday, Apr. 27 at the Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
