Davidson Finishes Trip to Florida With 4-0 Win

DAYTONA, Fla. — The Davidson men's tennis trip to the sunshine state of Florida closed out with a 4-0 win at Bethune-Cookman Thursday afternoon.
The Wildcats (8-4) have won eight of their last 10 matches since starting the season 0-2 and finished its spring break trip with a 2-0 record.
The doubles point went to the 'Cats after they scored wins of 6-3 and 6-2 at No. 1 and 3 positions, respectively. The pair of Artem Khrapko and Axel Fries moved to a team-best 6-4 on the year with the win at No. 1, while Jack Riazzi and Yash Parikh ran their mark to 5-4 after their 6-2 win.
Khrapko won his sixth straight singles match, leading the way with a dominating 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 1. The senior is 8-4 on the season.
Finishing off the team win was Fries and Thomas Mason, who tied Khrapko for the team lead with their eighth singles wins each. Fries tallied a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 4, his seventh win at that position, while Mason ran his record to 8-3 after a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 3.
Davidson as a team moved to 45-24 in singles play, while improving to 16-13 during doubles matches.
Davidson returns home this weekend for its second Atlantic 10 match, hosting Saint Joseph's Sunday at 1 p.m.
