Peters Javelin Win Highlights Women's T&F Trip to Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Sophomore Carly Peters won the javelin on a cold and cloudy day for Davidson women's track and field at the Wake Forest Outdoor Opener Saturday at Kentner Stadium.
Peters stretched the tape 43.59-meters on her second of six attempts to take first overall. Classmate Makayla Binter set a new personal best and finished second in the long jump with a mark of 5.31m. Binter also set a new personal best time in the 100-meter hurdles, stopping the clock in 16.14 seconds, good for fifth on the day.
The 4x100m relay team opened the meet with a victory, running the baton a lap around the track in 49.81 seconds.
Junior Tori Long posted a second place finish in the 400m, stopping the clock in 59.19 seconds.
Davidson runners went three-four in the 3k led by junior Caroline Yarbrough (10:26.09) -sophomore Susannah Cate was next in 10:40.36.
Maddie Hunter stopped the clock in 4:34.90 in the 1500m, good for sixth overall, while Sophia Mills came in right behind her with a time of 4:35.94.
Davidson returns to the track Friday, Mar. 30 for the opening day of the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University.
