MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Davidson women's track and field wrapped up their first outdoor weekend Saturday at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
Â
Sophomore Maddie Hunter claimed a win in the 800-meter run, stopping the clock in 2:16.73. Junior Sophia Mills came home in fourth (2:18.34).

Junior Tori Long opened the outdoor season with a third place finish in the 400-meter run. Long stopped the clock in 58.19 seconds. Also competing in the quarter mile was Claire Nieusma (1:00.31), ninth overall.

Sophomore Susannah Cate placed fourth in the 3k, stopping the clock in 10:28.56. Classmate Katie Macturk took second in her heat and sixth overall in the 1500m run, stopping the clock in 4:51.89. Senior Sierra Ponthier was just outside the top 10 (4:55.83).

Davidson returns to the track Friday, Mar. 16 for the opening day of the Charlotte 49er Classic.
