MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Davidson men's track and field team completed the first weekend of outdoor action Saturday at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.
Junior Sean Caveney had a strong outdoor debut, winning the 400-meter hurdles and taking second in 110m hurdles. Caveney stopped the clock in the 400mH in 54.95 seconds and the 110mH in 14.89.
Classmate Jacob Hostetler returned to the track for the first time this year in the 400m. Hostetler took second, stopping the clock in 49.09 seconds. Fellow sprinter, freshman Miles Hollimon, took third in the 200m (22.21), while classmate Nick Peeples was sixth (22.26).
Junior Will Jones was the collegian to finish the 3k steeple, second overall. Jones stopped the clock in 9:51.69.
Brady Logan opened the meet with a third place result in the discus throw. The junior marked a toss of 38.33-meters (125'9.25) on his third and final attempt of the day. Stockton McGuire placed ninth with a mark of 33.44m (109'8.75).
Davidson returns to the track Friday, Mar. 16 for the opening day of the Charlotte 49er Classic.
