Men's T&F Bring Home Four Wins From JDL Team Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Davidson men's track and field team won four individual events at the JDL Team Challenge Thursday night at JDL Fast Track.
Will Jones opened the meet for the men with a win in the 3,000-meters. Jones stopped the clock in 8:45.10, edging out a runner from Campbell. Alex Hazan also broke 9 minutes, crossing the line in fifth overall (8:57.67).
Daniel Alvarez snapped the tape in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 2:00.18. Max Higgins was third (2:00.99), while Iain Anderson took fifth (2:02.05). Senior Ian Robertson also won, taking the mile in 4:24.26, just ahead of junior teammate Dylan Carmack (4:24.46). Sean Caveney claimed a win in the 60-meter hurdles, snapping the tape in 8.35 seconds.
Rookie Miles Hollimon broke 7 seconds in the 60-meter dash for the second time this season, placing fourth with a time of 6.98 seconds. He returned to run 22.47 seconds, good for third, in the 200m.
George Williams led three Wildcats under 51 seconds in the 400-meters, placing second with a time of 50.12 seconds. Garrett Nickelson (50.34) was third, while Nick Peeples (50.95) came home in seventh.
Davidson returns to the track for the 2018 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship beginning Saturday, Feb. 17 at Mackal Fieldhouse and hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
