DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson swimming and diving heads to Geneva, Ohio, for the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championships. The event will be held at the SPIRE Institute and last from Feb. 14-17.
The women have found success in the Championships, both in the relay events and individually. This year, two-time captain Sarah Coats will guide the 'Cats, having won the 100 or 200 breaststroke event in every meet this season. She was named A-10 Performer of the Week earlier this month for her plaudits.
The men are looking to present a strong core, led by the senior trio of Clay Resweber, Taylor Willenbring, and Riley League. Resweber and Willenbring will each compete in freestyle events, while League excels in multiple strokes. Sophomore Crossan Cooper has compiled another stout season and will look to record top finishes in the IM and distance free events.
Willenbring medaled in the 50 free last year, while Resweber and League both narrowly missed the podium, finishing in fourth in their respective events.
Senior Cole Riggan also returns, a finalist in both the 500 freestyle and 400 IM a year ago.
Action for the 'Cats begins Wednesday evening with the women's 200 yard medley relay at 5 p.m.
