DAVIDSON, N.C. -Â Davidson hosts its final match of 2018 when George Mason University visits John M. Belk Arena for a non-conference dual Thursday. First bout from Belk is slated for 7 p.m.

Davidson enters Thursday's dual 2-3 overall. Freshman heavyweight Mitchell Trigg rolled through the first semester, posting an 11-3 mark including a SoCon opening decision over Tre Momon of VMI. The Wildcats have already pinned 16 opponents this season after earning just 10 falls in all of 2017-18. Freshman 141-pounder Kyle Gorant leads all 'Cats with 6 pins.
LAST TIME THEY MET
Davidson picked up three decision victories, but fell to Mason in Fairfax, Va., last January, 29-9. Then-seniors Dustin Runzo (141) and Konner Pritchard (197), along with Hunter Costa (165), all gutted out decision wins in the losing effort.Â
THE MAIN EVENT
George Mason heavyweight Matt Voss enters the dual number 16 in InterMat's weekly Division I rankings at 285 pounds and number 17 in the TrackWrestling ranks. Voss will take on Davidson freshman Mitchell Trigg, who enters the bout with an 11-3 mark and 3 falls.

Davidson returns to the mats with a dual against Franklin Marshall on Friday, Jan. 4 before competing in the F&M Open the following day in Lancaster, Pa.
