DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team wraps up a busy six-day stretch by closing it at home against High Point Monday evening inside John M. Belk Arena in non-conference action.
The Wildcats (3-3) will be playing their third game in six days, having played UNC Asheville before Thanksgiving and most recently William & Mary this past Saturday.
Opening Tip ...
•Davidson is in its 40th season and has collected 436 wins in program history.
•The 'Cats are in their fifth year in the Atlantic 10 after a 21-year run in the SoCon.
•Davidson was picked 11th in the A-10 preseason poll, while Justine Lyon was all-second team.
•10 letterwinners return and three starters from a year ago, while three freshmen were added.
•Head coach Gayle Coats Fulks is in her second year (15-21) and has a 1-0 record against High Point.
Last Game Out vs. William & Mary, Nov. 24 ...
•Davidson snapped a three-game skid with a well-balanced offense behind five double-digit scorers in taking a 76-65 victory at home against William & Mary Saturday.
•Justine Lyon led the way with 17 points off the bench, while Ally Welling and Kianna Speight each dropped in 14 points. Sarah Donovan had her third double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Katie Turner rounded out the five double-figure scorers with 11 points.
•Clinging to a 65-63 lead with 2:09 left in the fourth quarter, back-to-back three-balls from Speight and Turner gave Davidson all the momentum they would need to close out the win in opening up a 71-63 lead and forcing W&M to call a timeout. The 'Cats sealed up the win by going 5-for-6 at the charity stripe in the closing 43 seconds.
•Davidson finished the day shooting 45.2 percent for the game, including 8-of-16 in the fourth quarter when it outscored the Tribe, 27-19.

•Davidson currently ranks third in both scoring and scoring defense, while holding down first place in free throw percentage (.742) and made three-pointers per game (7.5).
•Katie Turner (7th) and Kianna Speight (9th) rank in the top-10 in scoring, while Donovan is tops in rebounding (9.7 per game) and Speight is tops with 19 three-pointers and 3.2 per game.
