DAVIDSON, N.C. — Returning home after a two-game road swing, Davidson will host Appalachian State this Saturday evening in a non-conference women's basketball action inside John M. Belk Arena.
The two former Southern Conference foes faced off last year in Boone, with the Wildcats scoring a last-second win.
"Survivor Night"
Saturday's game is "Survivor Night" as the first 500 fans will receive a free buff. Find hidden immunity idols and take part in in-game promotions for your tribe.
The game is also Dream Big Basketball Night and all those wearing their jerseys or t-shirts will get into the game FREE. In addition as part of a doubleheader with the football game earlier in the day at 1 p.m., fans who bring their ticket from the game will get in FREE for the women's basketball game Saturday night.

•Davidson was unable to shake off a cold shooting day at Gardner-Webb Wednesday resulting in its first defeat of the season, 54-49.
•Despite shooting just 28.1 percent from the floor, the Wildcats stayed within striking distance and had a chance to get a win. Trailing most of the game, they grabbed a 47-45 lead with 2:01 to go and were within two points with under a minute left at 49-47. But, turnovers and a couple missed three-pointers hurt the 'Cats and allowed the Runnin' Bulldogs to pull out the win.
•For the second straight game, Sarah Donovan recorded a double-double with 12 points and a new personal-best 15 rebounds, six of them on offense. She reached the double-double mark by halftime.
•Cassidy Gould scored 12 points to go with five rebounds, while Kianna Speight had 10 points.
A-10 Preseason Poll & All-League Team ...
•For the third year in a row, the Wildcats placed a player on the preseason team with senior guard Justine Lyon earning her second straight preseason all-second team honors.
•Lyon had another stellar season a year ago averaging 14.6 points a game and became the program's 20th player to reach 1,000 career points.
•Davidson, which was picked 11th with 72 points in the standings.

•Justine Lyon became the 20th player in program history to reach 1,000 points last year and currently sits in 16th place all-time with 1,049. She is 21 points away from moving up.
•The senior ranks in the top-15 in five different categories, including career scoring average 12th, 11.9), field goal attempts (11th, 977), and free throws made (10th, 226) and attempted (10th, 328).

•Katie Turner had her 13-game double-digit scoring streak end at Gardner-Webb.
•During the streak, she averaged 14.8 points and shot an impressive 42.3 percent (41-97) from behind the arc, while dishing out 49 assists (3.8 per game).
•Turner set a single season Wildcat record with 75 made three-pointers a year ago.
