WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Davidson men's and women's swim teams won four events in Saturday's dual meet at Georgetown.
The Davidson men won three events, including the 400-yard medley relay. The quartet of Owen Corkery, Crossan Cooper, Alex Strasser and Walt Dauksher swam to first in 3:28.74.
Strasser, a junior from San Diego, also won the 100 butterfly in 51.67.
"Strasser had a nice meet, giving our medley a lead and looking strong in the 100 fly," Davidson coach John Young said.
Davidson's Matt Bode won the 50 freestyle in 22.32.
The Wildcat women earned a win in the 200 freestyle relay with Hope Carpenter, Olivia Stanley, Julia Goodhead and Maggie Farrell touching the wall in 1:41.39.
Georgetown finished with a 167-122 advantage in men's team scoring and won the women's meet 195-94.
Other highlights
Young said freshman Thacher Scannell continued to impress with strong swims in the 500 and 1,000 freestyles, posting times of 4:44.25 and 9:44.61, respectively.
Hannah Gould swam the 100 and 200 breaststrokes in 1:09.42 and 2:27.67, and Isabella McElrath posted a time of 58.26 in the 100 butterfly
Along with her anchor leg on the victorious relay, Farrell swam the 100 freestyle in 54.99.
