Pritchard Caps Perfect Weekend Against VMI and Clarion

LEXINGTON, Va. - Senior Konner Pritchard won both his bouts to lead wrestling in a pair of duals at Southern Conference foe Virginia Military Institute Saturday, Jan. 13.
The Wildcats fall to 1-7 in dual matches this season, while the loss to VMI drops them to 0-3 in league clashes. Davidson fell to VMI, 29-9, and ended the day with a 36-3 non-conference loss to Clarion.
Pritchard, grappling in the 197-pound class, opened his day with one of the 'Cats three decision victories against the host Keydets, downing Max Gallahan, 3-1. He returned against Clarion, outlasting Edgar Ruano in the first sudden victory period, 3-1 with a takedown. Pritchard went 3-0 in two days in Virginia and improved his individual mark to 8-7.
Davidson's two other wins on the day came against VMI, Aidan Conroy's (149) team-leading 10th win of the season at 149-pounds and Conor Fenn's (184) fourth decision win of the year. Conroy (10-9) downed William Lawrence, 7-2, while Fenn (8-9) blanked Christopher Beck, 4-0.
Davidson returns to action back at Belk for a four-match home stand beginning with Campbell in a SoCon dual with the Camels on Friday, Jan. 26. First bout is slated for 7 p.m.
