Swimming and Diving Hosts Gardner-Webb in Senior Day Saturday

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Davidson swimming and diving will conclude its 2017-18 dual meet schedule this weekend, welcoming Gardner-Webb to Cannon Pool Saturday. Things begin at 1:00 p.m., while the Wildcats' nine seniors will be honored prior to the first event.

LAST DIVE IN
Davidson swimming concluded its road schedule last Saturday, facing off in a dual meet against William & Mary. The two squads combined for 16 top three finishes, led on the men's side by sophomore Crossan Cooper and senior Clay Resweber, and fellow veteran Sarah Coats on the women's. Cooper turned in a trio of second-place spots (1000 free, 200 breast, 400 IM), while Resweber came in second in the 200 free and third in the 500 free.

Coats won the 100 breast, an event she has dominated all season, and took third in the 200 breast. Freshman Sarah Helen Shepherd was also victorious, winning the 200 backstroke.

NINE FAREWELLS
The 'Cats will recognize their nine seniors before the meet Saturday. Diver Hayley Atkins and freestyler Elizabeth Weldon will join Coats, while Resweber is part of a six-member class for the men. Joining him is sprinters Taylor Willenbring and Ari Snyder, breaststroke and IMer Riley League, butterflyer Trey Harris, and freestyle/IMer Cole Riggan.
