Swimming Concludes Away Schedule Saturday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Davidson swimming concluded its road schedule Saturday, facing off in a dual meet against William & Mary.
The two squads combined for 16 top three finishes, led on the men's side by sophomore Crossan Cooper and senior Clay Resweber, and fellow veteran Sarah Coats on the women's. Cooper turned in a trio of second-place spots (1000 free (9:40.34), 200 breast (2:09.23), 400 IM (4:06.45)), while Resweber came in second in the 200 free (1:42.43) and third in the 500 free (4:44.06).
Coats won the 100 breast, an event she has dominated all season, with a time of 1:06.76, and took third in the 200 breast (2:26.05). Freshman Sarah Helen Shepherd was also victorious, winning the 200 backstroke on a 2:09.43 clip.
Other third-place finishers include freshman Chelsea Savage for the women (1000 free, 10:55.12), and senior Taylor Willenbring (100 free, 48.24), sophomore Alex Strasser (100 fly, 51.47), and freshman Kevin Andrews (100 back, 52.03) for the men.
The teams wrap up their dual meet schedule next Saturday, welcoming Gardner-Webb to Cannon Pool. The 'Cats will recognize the nine members of the senior class prior to the meet.
