Women Set Six New PR's on Day One of Camel City Classic

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Davidson women's track and field team posted six new personal records in a successful weekend at the Camel City Classic at JDL Fast Track Friday and Saturday.
Wildcat sophomore Caroline Yarbrough helped pace senior teammate Hayden Bates to a new PR (10:07.52) and reset her own in the process (9:56.83). Sophomore Abby Fry also notched a new personal best result in the 3k with a time of 10:41.94.
Keeping the theme of the evening alive, senior Caroline Turner recorded a new PR in the 5k, crossing the line in 18:04.20. The Needham, Mass., native finished seventh overall and cut nearly 20 seconds off her previous best mark.
Yarbrough opened the day with a second place finish in the mile run, crossing the line in 5:03.24. The Greensboro, N.C., native pulled away from Charlotte's Brittany Stanley in the final lap.
Freshmen Susannah Cate (5:09.87) and Katie Macturk (5:11.58) rounded out the PR's for the 'Cats in the mile. Sophia Mills also ran well, crossing the line in eighth place in 5:10.57.
In Saturday action, freshman Kate Hines nearly snapped her PR (26.27_, but crossed the line in 26.62 seconds.
The Wildcats return to JDL Fast Track Thursday, Feb. 9 for the JDL Team Challenge.
