Swimming Concludes Final Invite of 2017

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Davidson swimming and diving concluded its final invite of the year Saturday, recording 15 Top 10 finishes at the Total Performance Invitational, hosted by Kenyon College.
Senior Cole Riggan led the men's side with two top finishes, coming in fifth overall in the 500 freestyle (4:36.00) and ninth in the 200 IM (1:56.11). Sophomore Crossan Cooper and classmate Clay Resweber joined him in the 500, coming in seventh and tenth, respectively (4:38.72, 4:41.42).
The women's team was led by sophomore Isabella McElrath, who also collected two top 10 performances, placing sixth in the 100 fly (57.25) and seventh in the 200 breast (2:23.29). Her preliminary 100 fly time of 56.85 ranks her 10th on the all-time performances list.
Senior Sarah Coats also recorded two top 10 finishes, touching in right behind McElrath in the 200 breast at 2:23.33, and also finishing eighth in the 200 IM (2:11.29). Freshman Sarah Helen Shepherd touched in right behind her in the IM, clocking in at 2:11.42.
Other top performances include sophomore Brian Hynes in the 200 back (sixth, 1:53.20) and classmate Alex Strasser and senior Trey Harris in the 100 fly (ninth, 50.82, tenth, 51.44).
The women's 400 free relay, consisting of freshman Anna Linzell, sophomore Alexis LeMone, junior Lauren Crane, and sophomore Frances Resweber, touched in at tenth (3:35.46), while a pair of men's quartets round out the top performances.
The men's A 400 (Clay Resweber, sophomore Ian Hentenaar, junior Matt Bode, senior Ari Snyder) came in at seventh (3:06.64), while the B fleet (Hynes, freshman Kevin Andrews, sophomore Patrick Kelly, and junior Matt Regan) clocked in right behind them at 3:07.00.
