
Men's Track & Field Opens Indoor at JDL Kickoff Meet

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The men's track and field team opened the indoor season at the JDL Kickoff Meet Saturday.
Junior Dylan Carmack kicked off the season with a third place result in the 3k, stopping the clock in 8:44.13, narrowly edging out Andrew Cacciatore (8:44.24). Wildcat Will Jones (8:54.49) was sixth, while Alex Hazan (8:57.41) took seventh.
Rookie Daniel Alvarez debuted with a fourth place finish in the 800-meters (1:57.12), while classmate Taylor Drake was seventh (1:59.90). Senior Ramsay Ritchie registered a fourth place finish in the mile (4:24.75), while freshman Max Higgins was ninth (4:33.96).
Freshman Nick Peeples opened his career with a fifth place result in the 400-meter's, crossing the line in 50.49 seconds. The Wildcats added two more in the top 10 with George Williams in sixth (50.87) and Garrett Nickelson in ninth (51.35).
Sophomore James Davis cleared 4.45-meters (14'7.25) to take sixth in the pole vault, while junior Sean Caveney took 13th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.65 seconds.
Davidson returns to the track at the Wake Forest Invite on Saturday, Jan. 20 at JDL Fast Track.
