GAMBIER, Ohio -- Davidson swimming and diving finished up Day One of its return to the pool Friday, diving into action at the Total Performance Invite, hosted by Kenyon College.
The Wildcats were led by a duo of distance performances, as sophomore Crossan Cooper and senior Clay Resweber turned in a third and fourth place finish in the 1650 freestyle. Cooper clocked in at 15:59.11, while Resweber touched in right behind him at 16:02.16.
The women's 800 A free relay also collected a fourth place finish, as sophomores Frances Resweber, Alexis LeMone, and Isabella McElrath paired with junior Lauren Crane for a time of 7:43.71.
Senior Elizabeth Weldon was the top Wildcat finisher in the women's 1650 free (17:37.36, 10th), while both the men's and women's 200 A medley relays took fifth. On the women's side, the quartet of junior Anabelle Durham, senior Sarah Coats, and McElrath and LeMone finished at a 1:46.32 clip, while the men's fleet of freshman Kevin Andrews, senior Riley League, sophomore Alex Strasser, and senior Ari Snyder recorded a time of 1:32.66.
The men's 800 A free relay, consisting of sophomore Ian Hentenaar, senior Cole Riggan, League, and Resweber, rounded out the top finishes on the night, coming in sixth (6:47.47).
The 'Cats return to action Friday morning, with the women's 200 fly preliminaries beginning at 9:30 a.m. Fans can follow the meet via the video and live stat links provided.
