WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary had four players score in double figures and Davidson was never able to recover from a fast start by the Tribe in falling on the road Monday night, 73-55, inside Kaplan Arena in women's basketball non-conference action.
Davidson fell to 3-4 on the season, while W&M won its third straight to move to 5-1.
William & Mary grabbed control early by hitting seven of its first 10 shots, including three from behind the arc and never let the Wildcats back into the game, leading by as many as 22 points.
The 'Cats did try one last push in the fourth quarter, getting to within 12 at 57-45 on back-to-back triples from Mackenzie Latt and Justine Lyon with 5:52 left. The Tribe answered though with a 14-8 run to go up 71-53 with under two minutes left.

For the Wildcats, Latt registered her first double-double of the season, and the 20th of her career, with season highs of 19 points and 13 rebounds, six of which came on the offensive end. Lyon added 16 points, hitting half of Davidson's six three-pointers, and pocketed a season-best four steals.
Davidson fell behind 19-7 to start the game, but got within seven, 19-12, on two Sarah Donovan free throws before the Tribe closed out the first quarter up 25-12.
The lead would grow to 22 points (41-19) in the second quarter on the Tribe's fifth three-ball and Davidson trailed 43-24 at the half.
The final two quarters saw Davidson and W&M play even, with the Wildcats winning the third 13-11 before the Tribe had a 19-18 edge in the last quarter.
Davidson won the battle on the boards, 37-36, with 16 of them coming on the offensive end and it earned 15 second-chance points. The Wildcats were efficient again from the charity stripe, swishing home 15-of-18 attempts, but shot just 29.8 percent from the floor.
