CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Men's cross country registered its second consecutive individual winner as Ramsay Ritchie snapped the tape at the Queen City Invite Friday afternoon at McAlpine Park.
Ritchie helped lead the 'Cats to a second place result with his individual victory. The senior stopped the clock in 24:10, the second fastest 8k ran in program history. Mount Olive won the meet, recording 31 points. Davidson was next with 44, while Lenoir-Rhyne (122), Mars Hill (123) and Montreat (147) rounded out the top five teams.
"Our team has shown great improvement from race to race, and today was the best we have looked all season," said head coach Renny Waldron. "Great to see Ramsay run strong and get the win, it certainly bodes well going into the conference championship."
Davidson junior Dylan Carmack was third across the line, stopping the clock in 24:15, the third best result all-time. Sophomore Sam Thomas was 11th (25:03) with freshman Jake Carver just behind (24:03).
