Carmack Earns All-Conference at A-10 Championship

LEESBURG, Va. – Davidson junior Dylan Carmack placed ninth overall to lead men's cross country at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship Saturday at Oatlands Plantation.
Carmack made the original split at the front that put him in the second group of runners on course. The Chattanooga, Tenn., native hung tough to finish in ninth overall with a time of 25:34.3.
Davidson placed 11th as a team, registering 271 points. Dayton repeated as champs, tallying 66 points. Saint Joseph's (84), George Washington (95), Duquesne (146) and La Salle rounded out the top five. Saint Louis' Manuel de Backer won individual honors, snapping the tape in 25:12.3.
The Wildcats two through six runners were spread across just 13 spots and led by sophomore Ian Robertson (27:01.1) in 66th. Sophomore Alex Hazan (27:03.4) and freshman Jake Carver (27:03.6) crossed together, while sophomore Sam Thomas (27:08.0) finished out the Wildcat scoring.
