Palumbo and Runzo Lead Wrestling, But 'Cats Drop Dual To Clarion, 41-6

BOONE, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team dropped a non-conference dual meet against Clarion Sunday afternoon on the campus of Appalachian State, 41-6.
It was a similar outcome to Friday's meet with the 'Cats earning wins from junior Dustin Runzo and sophomore Tony Palumbo. The wins were each their third in-a-row dating back to victories at Limestone on Dec. 6.
Runzo kicked off the meet with a 7-4 decision over Clarion's Roshaun Cooley at 133-pounds. Runzo has now been involved in eight consecutive matches decided by a decision, going 4-4 over that span.
Palumbo notched the second win of the day for Davidson, taking Taylor Cahill the distance and picking up a 5-3 decision. The sophomore 157-pounder recorded his team-high 10th win of the season – he sits at10-3 overall.
Davidson next competes at the Pitt Duals Saturday, Jan. 14 when they take on the host Panthers and Franklin and Marshall beginning at 10:30 a.m.
