EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. – Davidson junior Konner Pritchard picked up wrestling's lone victory of the day as the 'Cats returned to SoCon action Sunday afternoon at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, 42-4.
The Virginia Beach, Va., native earned a match ending major decision over Jake Godinez, 14-2. It is his second consecutive win, moving him to 7-9 on the season.
The Cougars earned five wins by pin in a match that started in the 197-pound weight class.
Davidson's wins leader, 157-pounder Tony Palumbo, fell in a decision to Karsten van Velsor, 7-4. He falls to 11-4 overall this season. Ryan Devlin (197) and Hunter Costa (141) also fell by way of decision.
The Wildcats return to the mats Saturday, Jan. 28 at Chattanooga for a SoCon showdown. First bout is slated for 2 p.m.
