DAVIDSON, N.C. — Entering his 11th season, Davidson men's tennis head coach Drew Barrett announced today the signing of four incoming freshmen for the Fall of 2016.
The Class of 2020 is Barrett's 10th recruiting class since taking over the program in 2006. The Wildcats will welcome Axel Fries, Kotaro Horiuchi, Thomas Mason and Matthew Rose who reside from three different states as well as one from Sweden.
"I'm pleased to announce our next class of recruits and look forward to seeing their careers develop here at Davidson," said Barrett. "All four come from great schools and had success during their prep careers. They will give us even more depth and added competition to help make our team better. I am happy to welcome the guys to the program this Fall, and help us prepare for another great season as well as continue our success in the Atlantic 10."
In addition to the four incoming recruits, the Wildcats will welcome back nearly their entire starting lineup from this past season. They bring back all six singles starters, while two of their top three doubles teams return. In all, nine letterwinners return after going 11-10 this past year and 4-1 in A-10 play.
