ORLANDO, Fla. – In addition to Jack Lang finishing fifth individually at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship with a 54-hole total of 221 (+5), senior David Sargent earned his second straight all-conference honor.
The three-day event was played on the Par 72, 7,024-yard Grand Cypress Golf Club layout.
A freshman from Lexington, Mass., Lang carded six birdies in Sunday's final round to match his personal-best of two-under 70. He also recorded the best finish by a Wildcat freshman at the conference championship, since Richard Fountain claimed Southern Conference medalist in 2011.
Sargent (78-77-78=233) wrapped up his collegiate career with his second consecutive all-league honor after leading Davidson in stroke average.
Also competing for the Wildcats this weekend were Alex Nianouris (239/T-41) Andy Simmons (243/T-43), and Mike Blasey (249/T-52).
Davidson (309-313-312=934) finished its second appearance at the A-10 Championship 10th, two shots behind Saint Joseph's.
VCU (+18) fired consecutive rounds of 292 over the weekend to capture its third straight title, while the Rams' Adam Ball (73-70-69=212/-4) repeated as individual champion.
Richmond (+25) came home second, while Dayton (+32) finished third in the team standings.
