WASHINGTON, D.C.  — The trio of seniors Emma Sissman and Lucy Sexton along with junior Annie Brockett combined for eight goals and 11 points in leading Davidson to a 10-6 Atlantic 10 road win at George Washington Friday afternoon in women's lacrosse at GW Lacrosse Field.

Sissman and Brockett (season-high) scored three goals each, while Sexton found the back of the net twice in the victory. All three also dished out one assist apiece. The senior Sissman now has team highs of 26 goals and 29 points, while Sexton is third on the team with 20 points.

All three played a big part in helping Davidson (5-5, 2-1 A-10) erase a 3-1 deficit eight minutes into the game by scoring five goals during a game-changing 6-0 run to grab a 7-3 advantage with 9:47 left in the first half.

Sissman tallied her third straight game with three or more goals by scoring the tying and go-ahead goals nearly two minutes apart during the run. The senior's other goal put the 'Cats on the board at the 25:39 mark for a 1-1 tie.

Brockett started the rally at 18:04 with her seventh goal of the season and later assisted on Sexton's 12th goal of the year at the 10:38 mark. Nicole Pettiglio netted her seventh goal to finish off the run before GW made it 7-4 at the half.

The Colonials (2-9, 0-3 A-10) scored the first goal of the second half, but Davidson answered with a Christine Molinari goal just a minute after GW scored and Sexton picked up her second goal of the day off Jean Atkinson's second assist of the game to make it 9-5 with 8:32 remaining.

Brockett and Sissman hooked up one more time with 35 seconds left to finish off the win.

Bailey Forcier's two goals and an assist led GW on offense, while Olivia Boudreau had a goal and an assist.

Goalie Rose Woolson and her defensive teammates shut down the Colonials with just two second-half goals, despite firing off 16 of their game-high 30 shots in the half. Woolson stopped half of those shots and closed the game with a career-high 14 saves while adding four groundballs and a caused turnover.

Holly Thomas matched Woolson on the defensive end with an outstanding game. The senior picked up three groundballs and caused a career-high tying four turnovers to give her a team-best 13 on the season.

The Wildcats had a 14-12 edge on groundballs and were 14-for-16 on clear attempts, while GW won the draw controls 12-6. It was 0-for-6 though on free-position attempts.

The 'Cats wrap up their road trip this weekend with a 12 p.m. game at George Mason Sunday.
