HARRISONBURG, Va. —  The Davidson men's tennis team won its season-high fifth straight match with another 4-2 win on the road, this time at James Madison Sunday afternoon at Hillside Courts.
Â
The Wildcats reached the double-digit mark in wins for the third time in the past five years, moving to 10-7 overall. They also ran their record vs. the Dukes (8-9) to 11-5 since 1988.
Â
Unlike the day before at George Mason, Davidson had to come back from dropping the doubles point as JMU swept all three spots by the scores of 6-2, 6-4 and 6-3.
Â
The 'Cats were up to the task, taking four of the five singles matches that were completed for the win. Junior Jordan Hart clinched the team win with a 7-4 tie-breaker victory in the second set to take a 6-2, 7-6 match at No. 5.
Â
Artem Khrapko won his ninth match of the year with a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 2 and Ricky Saad, who clinched the win at Mason Saturday, won his second straight after a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 4.
Â
Keeping his personal singles win streak alive, and the tying the longest on the team this year, was Jack Riazzi at No. 6. The sophomore scored his fifth win in a row and his team-high 11th triumph overall with a 6-3, 6-3 decision.
Â
Davidson hosts cross-county rival Charlotte next, April 6 at 3 p.m.
