ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y.  — Six different players registered multiple goals and Davidson used a pair of nine-goal halves to overwhelm host St. Bonaventure, 18-6, Sunday afternoon in Atlantic 10 women's lacrosse at Marra Complex.

The win was the Wildcats' second largest of the season as they improved to 5-3 in conference play and 8-7 overall. They also continued to stay within the top six teams to advance to the league tournament in two weeks.

Emma Sissman and Lucy Sexton led the way offensively with five points each. Sissman put four in the back of the net and added an assist to give her a team-best 36 goals and 42 points. Sexton had three goals and two assists pushing her season totals in those categories to 19 and 11, respectively.

Annie Brockett (3 goals, 1 assist) and Jean Atkinson (2 goals, 2 assists) finished with four points each. Nicole Pettiglio had her fourth hat trick of the season, while Christine Molinari and Morgan Burch chipped in a goal and an assist each. Rounding out the offense was Sophia Sgroi with her fifth goal of the season.

Davidson scored four of the first five goals of the game and never looked back. Atkinson, Pettiglio, Brockett and Sissman each scored in the first 13 minutes of play, with Molinari and Sexton picking up assists.

A 3-0 run by the 'Cats would make it 7-2 with 7:31 remaining in the half. Later, Atkinson finished off her outstanding first half with a goal off an assist from Sissman with 18 seconds left to make 9-3 at the break. The senior had two goals and an assist in the half, as did Sissman.

After the Bonnies (3-13, 1-7 A-10) scored to open the new half to make it 9-4, Davidson responded with a 5-0 run to go up by double digits at 14-4. Brockett scored twice during the rally.

Sexton finished off the scoring for Davidson with a goal at the 5:06 mark off an assist from Burch to make it 18-5. SBU added one more goal for the final of 18-6.

The Bonnies' Scarlet Jaworski netted two of their goals, while four other players scored single goals.

Davidson had advantages in shots (34-26) and groundballs (17-15), while both teams pulled in 13 draw controls each. The Wildcats were an impressive 5-for-7 on free-position attempts.

In addition to her nice offensive day, Atkinson scooped up a team-best five groundballs and forced a turnover. Defender Holly Thomas had five draw controls and three caused turnovers. Sarah Kopp (2) and Maddy Sivilli (2) caused a combined four turnovers and Davidson as a team had 10 for the game.

Goalies Rose Woolson and Dana Stasieluk split time between the pipes, getting four saves each. Stasieluk added three groundballs.
