RICHMOND, Va. – Nine overall first-place finishes highlighted Davidson swimming and diving's first day at the Richmond Duals. The meet featured double dual meets, with both the men and women facing George Mason, while the Richmond and Duquesne women faced off concurrently. Senior Elise Lankiewicz recorded a clean sweep, taking home the top prize in the 100, 200, and 500 freestyle events, dominating in the water. Junior Riley League also turned in a flawless day, taking first in both the 200 butterfly and 200 individual medley. Other event winners include juniors Clay Resweber in the 200 free and Taylor Willenbring in the 100 free, and the quartet of Resweber, Willenbring, sophomore Jake Perron, and junior Ari Snyder in the 400 yard free relay (3:06.61).

Clancy turned in a 24.36 split in the women's 50 free for a second-place overall finish, and 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials Participant Katy Williams touched in at third overall in the 100 breast and fourth in the 200, but took first and second, respectively, in team scoring against George Mason due to the dual meet format.
Other women who picked up points over George Mason include junior Hayley Atkins in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events (fourth and fifth overall), sophomore Emily Yang (fourth and sixth in the 200 fly and 200 IM events), freshman Alexis LeMone in the 100 back (ninth overall), and sophomore Maggie Farrell in the 100 fly (fifth overall) but all came in second in terms of the dual meet.
The Wildcats return to the water Saturday, where the women will face off against Richmond, who lost to Duquesne 158-135, and the men will face George Mason in a rematch. Diving events begin at 9:30 a.m., while swimming is slated for a 10:15 a.m. start.
